Historically, Trustees are the elected representatives of their school communities. They help set board policy, approve the budget, oversee the Director of Education, and bring the concerns of students and families to the board. The role will be influenced by the province's decisions moving forward as the board is currently under provincial supervision.
A trustee can't overrule a principal, manage school staff, or change the provincial curriculum. Trustees work at the board level, focusing on policy, budgets, accountability, and representing the communities that elected them.
Yes. The TDSB has been under provincial supervision since June 2025 and is currently overseen by a provincially appointed Supervisor. But local representation still matters. Scarborough families deserve someone who stays connected to our schools, keeps families informed, speaks up when decisions affect our community, and makes sure Ward 11 is heard.
You can vote for a TDSB trustee if you're eligible to vote in Toronto's municipal election. Ward boundaries have changed for 2026, so your trustee ward may have changed even if you haven't moved. Check the Vote page to confirm you're in Ward 11.
This is a community-powered campaign, built with the help of volunteers, friends, neighbours and people who believe Ward 11 deserves strong representation. And there's always room for one more. DM @ravicharavi on Instagram or sign up here.
